Mr. David Patrick Linney, III, age 63, of Sanford, N.C., died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at Central Carolina Hospital.
He was born in Wake County, N.C. on December 3, 1949, to the late David Patrick Linney, Jr. and Barbara Moore Linney of Sanford. David graduated from Marlette High School in Marlette, MI and was self-employed for many years with Cafco Hospitality.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his wife Sharon Murchison Linney; son, Joshua Linney and wife Harper of Florida; step-son, Scott Stone and wife Bethany of Ft. Mill, S.C.; step-daughter, Ashley Brown and husband Joseph of Mint Hill, N.C.; four sisters Jeanne Cooper, Barbara Linney, Dianne Braren and Jo Ann Ezell; and four grandchildren Madison and Jordyn Stone and Payten and Carter Brown.
The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church and a memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Arnold B. Lovell and Wendell McGee officiating.
