She was born in Lee County, N.C. on February 15, 1947, to the late Shelton Monroe Dowdy and Christine McDonald Dowdy. Nancy worked for Canteen at Coty. She is survived by two sons, Billy “Scooter” Deal Jr. and wife Riana of Surf City and Chad Deal and wife Sherry of Sanford; one daughter, Crystal Deal White and husband Gene of Troutman; one sister, Ann Dowdy Keck of Reidsville; and five grandchildren Joshua White, Christine White, Abrielle Deal, Erick Deal and Andrew Deal. She is also survived by her loving companion, Chuck Grant. The family will receive friends Friday, March 1, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 1:00 PM at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Dr. William Hayes presiding. Burial will follow at Lee Memory Gardens. Print Obituary
