Larry Tyree Obituary

Larry Wayne Tyree, age 61, of Broadway passed away at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 17, 2024.

He was born in Charleston, West Virginia to the late John Tyree and Macel Ruth Chapman Tyree.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Tyree.  Larry worked at Tramway Auto Body for the past 18 years.  In his younger years, Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing blue grass music.  In his later years he enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the birds and squirrels he fed daily. Larry was a kind and soft-spoken man with a generous spirit and mischievous sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and you couldn’t ask for a better friend.

Larry is survived by his loving wife, Joanie McNeill Tyree; daughters, Erin Beasley and husband, Josh of Sanford and Amy Tyree of Broadway; brother, Donald Tyree of West Virginia; sisters, Betty Cook and Donna Holbert and husband, Tim all of West Virginia and grandchildren, Cole Beasley, Lillian Beasley and David White.

If you knew Larry you will know that he had quite an aversion to funerary practices.  In light of this and per his wishes, there will be no services.  On the other hand, he had no such aversion to having a little nip every now and then.  To honor his requests, if you have a mind to take a sip, pop a top or simply drink a Coke, raise a glass to our beloved Larry.  He will be missed beyond measure.
