Ruby (nickname “Rickie”) graduated from CCCC School of Nursing after rearing her children and worked in the old Sanford Hospital as a LPN for several years. With a reputation for taking excellent care of her patients, she was also a favorite nurse to many and would sometimes break into song to cheer them up. Ruby later felt it was more important to quit her job at the hospital and apply those nursing skills to caring for her elderly mother at home who was bedridden for more than thirteen years.
Ruby had many friends and always put others needs before her own. She loved her family dearly and most of all she loved the Lord.
The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Friday, April 19 from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the chapel, with Pastor Pearl Castleberry officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery. The family will gather following the burial at Sanford Free Will Holiness Church, 3000 Lemon Springs Road, Sanford, NC, 27332 for a time of food and fellowship.
