Brenda Lee Bargmann

Brenda Lee Bargmann (Brenda Lee), passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026, in Sanford, North Carolina, at the age of 67.

Brenda was born on April 17, 1958, in Reidsville, Georgia to the late Edgar Lee and Lavonna Branch Lee.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter Courtney Nicole Arnold; brothers Gene, Larry and Robert Lee and her sister Geraldine Lee Standard.

She spent her younger years in Glennville, Georgia and later as a young adult settled in Sanford where she developed the independence, responsibility, and steady character that shaped her life. A high school graduate with some college, Brenda spent many years working as a waitress, a role that fit her perfectly. With her warm smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness, she made everyone who walked through the door feel welcome. She considered the employees and patrons of Pete’s Family Restaurant in Carthage, North Carolina as her second family, and they, in turn, cherished her as one of their own.  She loved serving others and had a natural kindness that touched everyone she met.  Though firm and steady in character, she always acted out of love.  Brenda was deeply independent, reliable, and carried herself with great strength and determination. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Brenda’s family was her greatest  joy.  She loved them fiercely and showed her care through constant presence, support, and unwavering guidance. In her free time, she found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved listening to good music, working in her garden and walking through open fields, patiently searching for arrowheads and other artifacts. 

She is survived by  her daughter Angie Lee Davis (Michael Gilmore) of Sanford; grandchildren Tristan Shane Patterson of Broadway, and Avery Nichole Davis of Sanford; great-grandson Camden Shane Patterson and brother Herman Lee (Diane) of Savannah, Georgia.

Brenda lived a life marked by love, strength, and devotion to her family.  She was independent and steady, firm when needed, but always guided by care and affection.  Though she preferred a quiet life, her impact was felt by everyone who knew her.  In her final days, she found peace, and made her way with God, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and kindness that will be remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Lemon Springs Community Park (680 Greenwood Road, Sanford, NC).
